Fishing Week of 7 June 2010 through 12 June 2010

This past week has been a big fishing week for us. There have been some nice size jack crevalles on the beach which we caught on Wednesday and Thursday using topwater plugs and white jigs. The jacks are cruising the shoreline in the surf chasing the little baitfish which have been around the last few weeks.
Saturday Fishing Club at the Boynton Beach Boat Ramp was like nothing the students have seen thus far. We fished with small cut pieces of squid, and the kids caught 137 snappers and grunts in a couple of hours. Once it got really hot and more boats started coming in we switched to freshwater fishing. Using live worms we caught a bunch of bluegills, and a couple of bowfin and catfish. It was an amazing day for all of us last Saturday, and the students all borrowed fishing rods so they can fish this week on their own.
